Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She is also the director of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is widely praised as the pioneer of modern research of eyewitness memory in children and utilizing child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and has received many national and international prizes. She has consulted with numerous organizations and government officials across the globe on policy as well as research on child victims in the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a Fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 57). She was a founder member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the head of the American Psychological Association's three divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice.
